Synopsis


The undergraduate program offered by the Department of Computer Science (DCS) has a dual purpose: to prepare students for advanced studies and research, and to provide them with the training and skills needed for a variety of careers in the fields of business, and industry, as well as in the public sector.

Objectives


Upon successful completion of the Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, it is anticipated that the students will:

  • Be equipped with a solid foundation in the field of Computer Science coupled by hands-on training in a variety of applications.
  • Serve the needs of the local businesses and industry given the adequate training they received in different advanced fields of Applied Computer Science.
  • Meet the needs of local academic institutions and fill their shortages of highly qualified teaching staff in Computer Science and related fields.
  • Have the motivation and preparation to engage in life-long learning as well as enrolling in advanced degree programs in Computer Science.
  • Gain awareness as to the interdependence of hardware and software, the impact of computing on society, and the ethical and legal responsibilities of computer professionals.
