IUST believes that university life involves more than classes and books. Hence, a broad and varied co-curricular life on campus would complement students' learning experience as well as enhance their cultural and social development. Hence, the University encourages its students to organize and participate in a number of extracurricular activities, under the supervision and sponsorship of the Deanship of Student Affairs, to promote their growth outside the classroom.

1. Health Services

The University provides a preliminary health care for all enrolled students in the IUST medical center. In addition to that a free of charge medical insurance is provided.

2. Extra-Curricular Activities

Extra-curricular activities are to have their due importance in students' life on campus, with the aim of building students’ characters and providing them with leadership skills. As a matter of fact, the University does its utmost to make sure that the years that students spend at the University are academically rewarding and personally fulfilling. In this vein, the Deanship of Student Affairs provides a number of activities and services to complement the academic work of students and help them actualize their full potential. An essential aim of the Deanship is to help students fulfill themselves and serve their community responsibly. The programs, activities, and services sponsored by the Deanship are intended to develop the students’ talents and hobbies and to help them channel their energies into positive action. Under the guidance of Deanship of students affairs, IUST students organize and participate in extra-curricular activities through a variety of campus clubs. These clubs are: Anti smoking club, cultural club, ICT club, Social works club, life club, and the club of arts. In addition to the mentioned extra-curricular activities, IUST places a great emphasis on several sporting activities. All students are constantly encouraged to participate in and benefit from vari¬ous sports activities that expose them to enjoyable and often memorable experiences. IUST basketball team retained the university to lead in the local private universities championship for the last two years. IUST athletes learn the meaning of integrity, ethical conduct, fair competition and sportsmanship.
