Synopsis

Graphic Design as a profession is witnessing an unprecedented boom despite its relatively short history. The demand for skilled, well-rounded graphic designers is now on the increase. The knowledge and skills of Graphic Designers is being sought by a wide array of businesses and professions including advertising agencies, corporate design departments, newspapers and magazines, television stations, multimedia and graphic information firms. The Graphic Design Program offered by the International University for Science and Technology is a multi-disciplinary program of study that provides students with a deep theoretical and cultural background, creative design tools and visual communication skills to help them respond to the demands of one of today’s fastest growing fields. Experimentation and creativity are essential to study in this field. Design studios, computer labs and lecture courses provide an intellectual and interactive environment, in which students as well as faculty are constantly learning. The curriculum acknowledges the diversity and dynamics of the rich Muslim heritage and promotes in students an appreciation of this heritage by means of preserving its identity while introducing cultural innovation. As a matter of fact, rather than teaching students a set of technical skills, the DGD's curriculum is intended to develop students' perception, knowledge, skills and problem solving abilities.
