First
Year/Freshman Admission Requirements:
Students are admitted to the Freshman level of the
various programs on merit basis in accordance with
their scores in the General Secondary School Examination.
The completed stream of the Baccalaureate (Sciences,
Literature and Humanities) must correspond to the
requirements of the desired program of study at the
respective colleges of IUST.
Application
forms should be filled in and submitted to the Admissions
Office along with all supporting documents.

Requirements per College:
- College of Business and Finance :
Applicants must have passed the General Secondary School
Examination in either the Humanities or Science Stream,
or other vocational streams that correspond with the
respective department.

College of Information Technology:
Applicants must have passed the General Secondary
School Examination (Science stream), or other
vocational streams that correspond with the
respective department.

College of Engineering and Technology:
Applicants must have passed the General Secondary
School Examination (Science stream), or other
vocational streams that correspond with the
respective department.

Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy:
Applicants must have passed the General Secondary
School Examination (Science stream).
- College of Arts and Sciences:
Applicants must have passed the General Secondary
School Examination in the Science, Arts and other
vocational streams that correspond with the respective
departments.

Documents
Needed for Admission:
Students seeking admission to the University should
submit the following documents along with their completed
application form:
- The Secondary Certificate Transcription or an Equivalent
(authenticated copy).
- Copy of the birth certificate, the passport, the
family register or the civil status identity card.
- Two recent personal photographs, 4*6 cm.
- Certificate of Good Conduct.
- School certificates of the last two years.

Advising
Upon admission and prior to registration, each student
shall be assigned an Academic Advisor by his/her Department
Chairperson, upon the approval of the College Dean.
The Academic Advisor shall:
a. Advise the student to observe the conditions of his
admission to the University as set in his/her letter
of acceptance.
b. Make himself/herself available to students during
office hours, and when necessary by appointment, throughout
the academic year.
c. Assist students to properly fulfill all requirements
of the study plan and degree requirement.
d. Study and update the files of students throughout
his/her residency at IUST.
e. Keep students aware of and familiar with the University
academic rules, regulations and policies.

and other related matters. Hence, students are encouraged
to consult with their Academic Advisors on regular
basis throughout the period of their study at IUST.
Registration
Eligibility
An undergraduate student will be eligible for registration
upon settling all previous pending issues (academic,
financial, disciplinary and administrative) with the
University at the concerned offices. Otherwise, he/she
cannot proceed any further toward his/her registration.
Registration
Undergraduate students must register on the date assigned
to each of them by the Office of the Registrar by:
1- Receiving their tuition statements.
2- Paying the appropriate tuition and fees.
3- Preparing their course schedule in accordance with
the suggested program of study for their major.
4- Registering courses from the Division of Computing
Services or Advisor’s Office.
5- New students should register with the Advisor’s
Office by filling an appropriate Registration Form.
Registration
Process
Registration involves the following steps:
Payment of Fees: The first step in registration is
the payment of fees. Regardless of the manner of payment,
every student must clear his/her registration with
the Business Office. Outstanding balances must be
settled in full before a student is allowed to register.
Those who fail to honor the semesters of the arrangement
of payment of fees will be denied the privilege of
future arrangements.
Consultation with Academic Advisors: Each student
is assigned an academic advisor. With a proposed semester
course schedule, the student proceeds to his/her advisor
for consultation and the finalization of the selected
courses. Students should consult with their academic
advisors in the places assigned to them for registration.
The selection of courses is initially undertaken by
the registrant himself/herself. New students must
make sure that all required documents, particularly
those mentioned in the letter of admission, are submitted
to the Registrar's Office. They should also have in
hand their letters of admission and identity cards
or passports to present them to their advisors.
