» Synopsis

The Architectural Engineering program is intended to develop students' understanding of the essential interaction between the environment, heritage and human factors, and to relate them to design practices and processes. In addition, the program will enable students to develop an appreciation of global and local architecture, as well as urban planning and design. It will also deepen their social awareness and environmental consciousness for the utilization and conservation of natural resources.

Graduates of the program will acquire knowledge, practice and design capabilities in the following areas:
• Architectural Design;
• Structures;
• Construction Engineering & Management;
• Environmental Control Systems.

In addition, graduates will have an understanding of global and local architecture, as well as urban planning and design.

» Goals and Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the program, it is anticipated that the students will have acquired the skills:

1. To understand the impact of architectural engineering solutions within a societal context.

2. To apply the fundamentals of mathematics, science, architecture and engineering as well as aesthetic principles to the conceptualization, design, construction and realization of buildings.

3. To solve engineering problems and be able to perform and design competent, environmental-friendly architectural engineering designs.

4. To remain current with modern architectural engineering professional practice, through verbal and graphical presentation and interpretation of architectural and engineering data.

5. To illustrate independent study skills required for lifelong learning and continual professional development needed by the local community.
