Department of Interior Design

» Synopsis:
The mission of the Department of Interior Design (DID) is to provide students with a solid foundation of basic interior design skills and to help them realize and develop their own creative vision. At the same time, the DID aims at graduating students who are well-versed in the artistic traditions of Islamic and Western art as well as those of other civilizations, so they can easily understand and grasp cross cultural boundaries and adjust within a global culture shaped by advanced international media technology.

Students can develop design concepts for interior spaces, and transform these concepts into practical, functional, and innovative environments to meet client needs. Architectural drafting, space planning, and computer-aided design are used to develop new concepts and to refine students’ individual skills and talents. Building systems, regulations and current business practices are taught to prepare students for their internships and professional careers in interior design.

The program is based on the use of modern technology in developing ideas. Students are able through interior designing to use advanced computer technology and thus, to develop interior design projects and have their work assessed by professional designers.
